SEVEN

The Bible was originally divided into 7 major divisions. They are 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation. The total number of originally inspired books was forty-nine, or 7 x 7, demonstrating the absolute perfection of the Word of God. Seven is the foundation of God’s word. Biblically the prophetic sevens all match: Days of the Week, The Seven Thousand Years of Time, The Seven Feasts, The Seven Spirits of God, and the Seven Colors of the Rainbow. We are between the end of the Church Age and the Kingdom Age.

CREATION

DAY ONE

In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. GENESIS 1:1-5
DAY TWO

And God said, Let there be a firmament [the expanse of the sky] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters [below] from the waters [above]. And God made the firmament [the expanse] and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the firmament Heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day. GENESIS 1:6-8
DAY THREE

And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place [of standing], and let the dry land appear. And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good (fitting, admirable) and He approved it. And God said, Let the earth put forth [tender] vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day. GENESIS 1:9-13

DAY FOUR

And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens [of God’s provident care], and [to mark] seasons, days, and years, And let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light upon the earth. And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light (the sun) to rule the day and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night. He also made the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, To rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it. And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. GENESIS 1:14-19

DAY FIVE

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly and swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly over the earth in the open expanse of the heavens. God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the fowl multiply in the earth. And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. GENESIS 1:20-23

DAY SIX

And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creeping things, and [wild] beasts of the earth according to their kinds. And it was so. And God made the [wild] beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and domestic animals according to their kinds, and everything that creeps upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it. God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground—to everything in which there is the breath of life—I have given every green plant for food. And it was so. And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

DAY SEVEN

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. And God blessed (spoke good of) the seventh day, set it apart as His own, and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all His work which He had created and done. GENESIS 2:1-3

THE BIBLICAL SABBATH

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11

We see from the scripture above that keeping the Sabbath is one of the ten commandments. Exodus 31: 13-17 tells us that keeping the Sabbath is a sign of the eternal and perpetual covenant between us and God and that the children of Israel are to keep the Sabbath throughout all generations. Keeping the Sabbath is likened to wearing our wedding ring to show that we are betrothed to Messiah Yeshua, our bridegroom:

Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. ork shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ” Exodus 31: 13-17
On God's calendar, a biblical day begins at sundown. The Sabbath begins at Friday night sundown (called Erev Shabbat) and the Sabbath ends on Saturday night at sundown.

The Sabbath foreshadows the Messianic Era. The Sabbath represents a Bride. Yeshua is LORD of the Sabbath. The Sabbath teaches us how to rest in Yeshua and believe His promises.

SHEMITAH

The Lord said to Moses on Mount Sinai, Say to the Israelites, When you come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath to the Lord. For six years you shall sow your field, and for six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its fruits. But in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord; you shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap and the grapes on your uncultivated vine you shall not gather, for it is a year of rest to the land. And the sabbath rest of the [untilled] land shall [in its increase] furnish food for you, for your male and female slaves, your hired servant, and the temporary resident who lives with you, For your domestic animals also and for the [wild] beasts in your land; all its yield shall be for food. Leviticus 25:1-7

JUBILEE

And you shall number seven sabbaths or weeks of years for you, seven times seven years, so the total time of the seven weeks of years shall be forty-nine years. Then you shall sound abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month [almost October]; on the Day of Atonement blow the trumpet in all your land. And you shall hallow the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his ancestral possession [which through poverty he was compelled to sell], and each of you shall return to his family [from whom he was separated in bond service]. That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; in it you shall not sow, or reap and store what grows of itself, or gather the grapes of the uncultivated vines. For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat the [sufficient] increase of it out of the field. In this Year of Jubilee each of you shall return to his ancestral property. Leviticus 25: 8-13

BIBLICAL FEASTS

The Sacred Calendar of feasts or appointed times of meeting between the Lord and His people are filled with symbolic prophecies that foretell the great plan of God through time. Israel’s Feasts represent the course of Time – this earth’s history from beginning to end of creation The Lamb slain (Passover) starts it, and the Feast of Tabernacles brings it to a close: while the Sabbath rest – God’s rest in Himself, and His creatures rest around Him – both precedes and follows this course of time. (David Baron).

Passover — Leviticus 23:5

On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover. LEVITICUS 23:5
This feast remembers the last plague in Egypt, when the angel of death “passed over” the children of Israel who applied the blood of the lamb to their doors. The Israelites took a bundle of hyssop and dipped it into the blood in the basin at the threshold. Going up, they put it up on the lintel, then touched the two sides of the frame (Exodus 12).

When John the Baptist said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29, NLT), he understood the Old Testament reference. And in the New Testament we see that Jesus — born in a stable, visited by shepherds and led to the slaughter — is that lamb sent for us. His death allows the judgement we deserve to pass over us. When we accept Christ, we accept the loving gift of a second chance — because of his death on the cross, we have a clean slate!

Unleavened Bread — LEVITICUS 23:6

On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. LEVITICUS 23:6

This seven-day feast begins on the day following the start of Passover. In the haste of the Israelites to leave Egypt, there was no time to add leaven (yeast) to their bread. During this time, remembering the hardships in Egypt and how God freed them from captivity, the Jews eat nothing leavened.
Leaven often represents sin and decay in the Bible. Once incorporated, yeast becomes an inseparable part of the bread; the same is true for sin’s effect on our lives. The Jews were constantly sacrificing unblemished animals to temporarily atone for sin. Only the Messiah, the perfect sinless sacrifice, could offer a permanent solution. The unleavened bread represents Jesus’ sinless life; he is the only perfect sacrifice for our sins.
First Fruits — LEVITICUS 23:10

Tell the Israelites, When you have come into the land I give you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. LEVITICUS 23:10
The Feast of First Fruits is one of three Jewish harvest feasts to thank and honor God for all he provided. Although they didn’t know it at the time, the children of Israel were celebrating what would become a very important day.

Figs

The priests sacrificed Passover lambs on the 14th day of the month of Nisan, and the first day of Passover was the 15th. The Feast of First Fruits was celebrated the third day, the 16th of Nisan. This “third day” celebration was the same day that Jesus resurrected from the dead. In 1 Corinthians 15:20 Paul refers to Jesus as the first fruits of the dead. He represents the first of the great harvest of souls — including you — that will resurrect to eternal life because of the new covenant in his blood (Luke 22:20).

Feast of Weeks or Pentecost — LEVITICUS 23:16

Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a cereal offering of new grain to the Lord. LEVITICUS 23:16

This feast is the second of the three harvest feasts. It occurs exactly seven weeks after the Feast of First Fruits, so it’s also called Pentecost which means “50 days.” Traditionally, people were expected to bring the first harvest of grain to the Lord including two leavened loaves of bread.
Feast of Trumpets — LEVITICUS 23:24

Say to the Israelites, On the first day of the seventh month [almost October], you shall observe a day of solemn [sabbatical] rest, a memorial day announced by blowing of trumpets, a holy [called] assembly. LEVITICUS 23:24

In a beautiful declaration God commands his people to rest. During this time all regular work is prohibited, and men and women present a food offering to God. On the same front, the sound of a trumpet is also associated with the rapture, or the time Jesus will return for his bride (1 Corinthians 15:52). Once he returns, there will be a wedding feast of celebration. Revelation 19:9 says, “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb” (NLT). He’s preparing us to celebrate!
Day of Atonement — LEVITICUS 23:27-28

The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy [called] assembly, and you shall afflict yourselves [by fasting in penitence and humility] and present an offering made by fire to the Lord. And you shall do no work on this day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. LEVITICUS 23:27-28

To make “atonement” is to make restitution for wrongs committed. As a day of humility and repentance to God, it was a time for the Jews to get their hearts, consciences, and lives right before him. The observance involved the sacrifice of animals as the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies. What the High Priest did there couldn’t offer more than an annual payment for their sins. However, hiding in plain sight was the promise of one who could atone for their sins permanently (Hebrews 9:12).

The Jewish leaders condemned Jesus, and he — burdened with the sins of all mankind — was led out of the city to be crucified: “He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins — and not only our sins but the sins of the world” (1 John 2:2, NLT). The necessity of the Day of Atonement was rendered void by Jesus’ death on the cross — our debt has been paid!
Feast of Tabernacles or Booths — LEVITICUS 23:34

Say to the Israelites, The fifteenth day of this seventh month, and for seven days, is the Feast of Tabernacles or Booths to the Lord. LEVITICUS 23:34
Celebration always follows the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates God’s provision and protection for the people of Israel during their 40 years wandering in the wilderness; for the seven days of the feast, people live in temporary structures like they did in the wilderness. The Lord himself was with the Israelites in the desert, in a tented temple called the tabernacle, so the feast also celebrates his presence as he tabernacles (dwells) with us.

Jesus is called Emmanuel, meaning “God is with us” (Matthew 1:23, NLT). He put on a temporary tabernacle — a human body — to dwell on this earth and offer himself as a sacrifice. This feast also points to the promise that God will return and rally with his people — in the person of Jesus. And when he does, he has promised that there will be no more death and suffering, that he himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes (Revelation 21:4). His return is the final answer to the hope we’ve carried our entire lives. What a day that will be!

We can pray for God’s wisdom as we read his Word. Even with this small glimpse into these feasts, we see his intentional love for humanity has endured centuries, and he has left us clues that foreshadow the beauty that is to come. The Old Testament has many hidden truths that, in light of the New Testament, bring a richer understanding to your life in Jesus Christ.
SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD

And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord ISAIAH 11:1, 2

Spirit of Wisdom

The spirit of wisdom is the supernatural ability of God that comes upon our spirits to see Jesus as He is. The Spirit of Wisdom connects with the Spirit of Understanding to give us spiritual understanding and knowledge of God’s word. That enables us to know what to do, when to do it and how to do it in every situation. It also reveals God’s manifold and unsearchable wisdom and secrets affecting His plans and purposes usually spoken in a mystery. It means a deeper intimacy into the things of God.

Example:

Daniel 9:21-23—While I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering. He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding. At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you for you are highly esteemed; so, give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision.

Spirit of Understanding

The spirit of wisdom/understanding is a comprehension of the things of God providing understanding with the mind giving insight with perception. Wisdom and understanding means the insight into the true nature of things with the ability to discern mode of action with a view to their results. It is the ability to not only know the things of God but also the application of them practically.
Spirit of Counsel

The Spirit of Counsel is advice, plans, or admonitions of prudence to provide leadership and proper decision-making to achieve God's plan and purpose. The Spirit of Counsel grants advice from God's throne and provides the perfect plan or strategy to achieve a specific mandate.

Spirit of the Lord=Government

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace Isaiah 9:6

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Then He closed the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.“ Luke 4:18-21

From the throne came forth lightnings, voices and thunderings; and before the throne were seven flaming torches, which are the sevenfold Spirit of God. The sevenfold Spirit is a complete representation of His revelation (seven eyes) and power (seven horns) essential to accomplish His plan in the earth. In order for the Church to do the works that He did, fulfilling John 14:12, this same manifestation of the Spirit must also rest upon her! The Lord promised to baptize us in the Holy Spirit and fire; the Seven Spirits of God are manifested in fire. Revelations 4:5
Spirit of Might

The Spirit of Might is power, strength, or force producing valor, victory, and mighty deeds. The Spirit of Might illustrates and demonstrates the marvelous acts and miraculous powers of the Holy Spirit. Careful adherence and response to His Counsel releases the Spirit of Might

Spirit of Knowledge

The Spirit of Knowledge is very simply accessing the omniscient nature of God. He knows all things even to the numbering of the hairs of our head. The unveiling of this dimension of His nature opens the door for the manifestation of reverential awe through a demonstration of supernatural information and insight.

Spirit of Reverence

Spirit of Reverence is a healthy awareness of God’s omnipotent nature with a view of the vastness of His being and the unlimited nature of His power.

DIETARY LAWS

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Say to the Israelites: These are the animals [a]which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, any of these animals you may eat. Nevertheless, these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud or divide the hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you. And the coney or rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you. And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you. And the swine, because it divides the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud; it is unclean to you. Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you. These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, these you may eat; But all that have not fins and scales in the seas and in the rivers, of all the creeping things in the waters, and of all the living creatures which are in the waters, they are [to be considered] an abomination and abhorrence to you. They shall continue to be an abomination to you; you shall not eat of their flesh, but you shall detest their carcasses. Everything in the waters that has not fins or scales shall be abhorrent and detestable to you.

These you shall have in abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, for they are detestable: the eagle, the ossiphagy, the osprey, the kite, the whole species of falcon, every kind of raven, the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, every species of hawk, the owl, the cormorant, the ibis, the swan, the pelican, the vulture, the stork, all kinds of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
All winged insects that go upon all fours are to be an abomination to you; Yet of all winged insects that go upon all fours you may eat those which have legs above their feet with which to leap on the ground. Of these you may eat: the whole species of locust, of bald locust, of cricket, and of grasshopper. But all other winged insects which have four feet shall be detestable to you. LEVITICUS 11
